    Frederick A. Anderton from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, served as a Newfoundland Ranger from 1936-1939. Sergt. Major F. A. Anderton was appointed first as Training Officer and later became Chief Ranger with the rank of Major. In June of 1939, Major Anderton resigned as Chief Ranger.
