I have data on some NZ Andertons. My great grandfather was Charles (born1845 at Preston- died August 11, 1895at Otane, New Zealand, the son of Henry Anderton and Alice, nee Wilson) who emigrated with his brother William (born C1840) to NZ aboard the 'Bombay' in 1865. Later (1868-1870) their mother and sisters also emigrated aboard the 'Royal Dane'. Charles married a widow (Amy Wilhelmina Bentinck Robinson, nee Head, born April 15, 1850 aboard emigrant ship the 'Lord William Bentinck' and endowed with those horrid names because of it!, and died July 23, 1941at Whangarei) July 2, 1874 at Russell, New Zealand. They had 10 children; George, Arthur, Albert, David Henry (my Pop, born August 16, 1887), Alice, hettie, Jessie, Kathleen, Emily and Frank. Charles died August 11,1895, aged 50 at Kaikora North,(later renamed Otane), Central Hawke's Bay, NZ. Amy died July 25, 1941, aged 91, at Whangarei, New Zealand. David Henry (born 1887) was my grandfather. Newspaper reports of those above say Charles was cousin to Sir Robert Peel!?
