Liverpool (UK), Alabama, Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, Cuba & Caribbean, New Jersey & Virginia. George Pryor Anderton from Liverpool, England. Late 1800's emigrated to Alabama and then, Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana. He was a consulting engineer to the sugar & travelled to Cuba and the Caribbean on behalf of Amstar Corporation (Dominoe Sugar). My paternal grandmother, Alice Anderton lived on a sugar plantation in Plaquemines Parish with her family, later moving to New Jersey and subsequently to Virginia. I'm told that George Pryor Anderton is buried in a cemetary along with his father(name unknown to me)in New Orleans in the Garden District. I would appreciate any family information connecting to these Andertons. |

Wigan, Lancashire to Utah, USA. There is an old story in my family that four Anderton brothers came to America from England during the 1800's. They supposedly spent some time in Pennsylvania, where two joined the L.D.S. church, and went west to Utah. The other two stayed there. Any information about this or any similar account is much appreciated. My father is Kenneth G Anderton, his is James Rulon Anderton, and his father was Levi J. Anderton. |

My problem is that the Parish Records list only a Richard m. to Margaret Hardman - we can find Francis but not John! |

Columbus was my ancester - m. Lucy Alice Gayle. Their son, Roland Crowder Anderton, was my grandfather. Trying to connect Benjamin with any of earlier Anderton's of Gloucester County who served in the Rev. War - namely, John, Isaac and Ralph Anderton. There are also Anderton's in present day Gloucester County, VA that I have not been able to connect with. There was also a John and a Daniel that received land grants for transporting persons in the 1600's in that area of VA. |

Richard was the 2nd husband of Mary Moore, ne้ Whitside. He disappeared to Australia in 1852, then nothing more was heard until his death in NSW in 1884. He left several children behind in Chorley, with their mother. He had a brother Thomas, a solicitor, unmarried in the 1881 census. |

Chorley, Horwich, Preston, Lancashire. My paternal grandmother was Mary Alice Anderton (1898-1980) b. Chorley (I think). She told a family member about going to visit her Grandfather in a carriage, he was supposedly from the Hall in Euxton. She married my Grandfather (William Frederick Beatty) in 1920, in Horwich. Amy Wilhelmina Bentinck Robinson (ne้ Head) - widower. Charles & Amy had 10 children - George, Arthur, Albert, David (born 8/16/1887), Alice (1875), Hettie, Jessie,Kathleen, Emily, Frank. Charles d. August 11,1895, aged 50 at Kaikora North,(later renamed Otane), Central Hawke's Bay, NZ. Amy d. July 25, 1941, aged 91, at Whangarei, New Zealand. David Henry (born 1887) was my grandfather, so have lots of data on him and some on his brothers and sisters and their offspring. Would welcome any connections out there - particularly other descendants of Henry and Alice, & any further data. Newspaper reports of those above say Charles was cousin to Sir Robert Peel!? Had Children: Sidney (b1903?), John Joseph (b1905?), Alice Mabel (b 27/12/1908), Elizabeth Rose May (b 5/5/1913), Harriet Alma (b 3/1913), Harry, Eileen, George, & Marie Olive. Jack Anderton died of lung cancer in 1947/48. Family names: Joseph, Annie, Lizzie, Bridget.
